Compost

Inspiration

One of the main forgotten aspects within the Art of Growing, is the art of soil feed.

After a short time on mineral fertilizer or no feed the humus layer dies.

How do you get the humus layer back up? This is a whole art form. The art of healthy soil! The small compost heap system is the best way. This is the art of composting! This is a forgotten sacred art that very few people know how to do well. Small scale composting is a true path to a source of alchemy. It can reveal the secret of a foundation for a healthy life.

I can also come and put the 6 bio-dynamic compost preparation in your compost heap.

I can supply a limited amount of cow manure compost laced with the six bio-dynamic preparations. sorry i have run out of this supply.

1.normal recycled green waste compost at £2.50 a bag.

bagged and ready to go.

3. Normal horse manure (not well rotted) £2.50 per bag.no longer available

sorry i no longer have access to horse manure.

My present knowledge and opinion of is that they are okay in a mix. Each one needs practical real time growing study in relationship to the animal involved.

Human compost is no good on veg beds (do not use it for this!!), unless you meet someone with real long term experience of using it in growing veg. It can be used in tree growing.

Worm compost £2.50 per small bag.no longer available
This can also be used to start a wormery or help re-kindle an old one. Cow manure is excellent on a cosmic level and a truly practical level. Worm compost is probably the best soil feed available. I sometimes have this for sale.

It is better if you make your own leaf mould or leaf compost. It is the best seed growing soil compost (it does depend on which type of leaves are used. So-called soil improver – i.e. broken down garden waste is great if used where the weed cuttings came from. If it is from a community hand turned compost site it can also be good. It might contain some weed seeds.

Commercially made soil improver (green waste turned by machines) is generally made with too much heat (to kill the weeds) which takes a lot of the nutrients out. It is better than old mushroom compost.

Fine sifted commercially produced soil improver is great as lawn feed especially if its mixed with grind-ed rock dust.(sand)

I also have other mixes that I have been working on which include the use of different sands, soot and charcoal.

I can also supply compost boxes made from Scottish grown timber or recycled pallets they can be delivered in a flat pack. from £40-60 depending on compost system needed. Basically start! Play! Make a heap and enjoy it. Talk to as many good growers as you can.
